Abstract

A variational finite element-spherical harmonics method is presented for the solution of the even-parity multigroup equations with anisotropic scattering and sources. It is shown that by using a simple and natural formulation the numerical implementation of the method for any desired geometry is greatly eased and the anisotropy of scatter treated without any difficulty. Numerical examples demonstrate the ability of the resulting code to solve geometrically complex multigroup problems.
