Abstract

This paper deals with shakedown problems of systems with linear kinematic hardening material. Based on the fact that a system with linear kinematic hardening material can only fail locally in the form of alternating plasticity, an analytical method for determining the shakedown load factors was developed. First this method is derived in a general form and then applied to some examples. Finally, the analytical results are compared with those obtained by other analytical and numerical methods.
