Abstract

In Mei Ng’s novel Eating Chinese Food Naked, the protagonist Ruby’s intense affection towards her mother comes from her subconscious inverted Electra Complex. This thesis intends to explore the performance, consequence, and cause of Ruby’s inverted Electra Complex from the perspective of psychological analysis,so as to shed some light on the special psychology of the new generation of Chinese American women.
