Abstract

The model described in Part I of this series is extended to include the effects on particle ejection of the presence of a layer of wool, the possibility of particle retention after impact, and the effect of multiple burr-beater particle impacts. Selected parameters were then adjusted so that an optimum fit was obtained between the theory and experimental results. The model was subsequently used to predict the effect on VM removal of parameters such as burr-beater diameter, number of blades, burr-beater/morel clearance, etc.
