Abstract
Manufacturing grid serves as a distributed platform for integrating manufacturing resources and offering shared service. The state knowledge of the manufacturing resources is recorded efficiently. Thus resource exceptions can be timely noticed and removed to ensure reliable service. Given the features of manufacturing grid and the strategy of failure detector in the mode of PULL, this paper proposes a new mode of state detection algorithm for manufacturing grid. This algorithm is capable of meeting various demands of all kinds of manufacturing resources, and supporting the strategy of scheduling priority of local resources demanding no clock synchronization. Data from a manufacturing grid test bed shows that the algorithm can accurately and dynamically record the resource state, and it can meet the demands of resource detection in the manufacturing grid.
