Abstract

The controlled current polarisation of precipitate-based ISEs gives the possibility of going below the Nernstian limit in anion determination with linear relationships. A four-electrode circuit with positive feedback was applied for ohmic potential drop compensation in direct amperometry at precipitate-based electrodes. The case of incomplete compensation for ohmic drop is discussed and examined. A chloride ion concentration between 10 −5 and 10 −6 mol dm 3 has been measured at AgCl precipitate-based electrodes with a linear calibration curve.
