Abstract
Based on the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan in 2021 and the many social issues left behind in Afghanistan that have drawn the world's attention, this paper reviews the performance of the United States in political diplomacy. Focusing on the Afghanistan region and through a case study approach, this paper examines and analyzes the gains and lessons learned by the United States in the war. The paper aims to answer the question, "Why is the U.S. war on terror increasingly frightening?" It deals with the U.S. attitude toward Afghanistan prior to the war in Afghanistan to protect its own interests.
