Abstract

Five cases of maxillary ameloblastoma are presented here. These consisted of two females and three males between the ages of 33 years and 60 years. The average age at the time of initial diagnosis was 47 years. The location was mostly in the maxillary premolar to the molar region. In the radiographic findings, there were none showing a multilocular appearance, and most were apparently monolocular. A scalloped band of bone resorption of the margin was frequently detected. Histopathological findings showed that the major portion of these lesions consisted of a stroma with few parenchyma. Most of the cases demonstrated a marked fibrous change.
