Abstract
Most functionalized intermediates derived from currently used ECF cell products contain sulfonamide or carboxamide linking group between the perfluorinated chain and the hydrocarbon segment. Alternative intermediates that do not contain this linking group were prepared and used to make surface-active materials. The chemistry and the results of our work will be discussed.
