Abstract
A model is suggested for explaining the angular and energy distributions of alpha particles observed in collisions of nuclei of the alpha particle type with heavy nuclei. The character of the link of alpha particles in an incident nucleus plays a decisive role in the mechanism of the process. The available experiments on the angular and energy distribution are discussed.
