Abstract
Non-scarring alopecias are reversible, in which the hair follicle is altered but not completely destroyed (dots are visualized) so they have a better prognosis. It is essential to know how to differentiate the trichoscopic and trichogram characteristics of non-scarring alopecias in order to diagnose trichotillomania, since it is a diagnosis of exclusion. We describe, in this case, the differential diagnosis with: alopecia areata, tractional alopecia, tinea capitis and aseptic and alopecic nodules of the scalp or pseudocysts.
