Abstract

Various types of algorithms have been widely applied to the Wireless Sensor network (WSN), but only on the limited implementation of the simulation course, for the application of real hardware is still very rarely done. In this research applied Guaranteed Time Slots (GTS) algorithm to real hardware Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) by using star topology. Parameters used are throughput, latency, energy efficiency, and total packets sent. We modeled the star topology by analyzing based on the node given the GTS to get maximum results. Our research is to compare GTSs that are on nodes based on the number of GTS where the number of GTS we use starts from 1 to 7 GTS. After conducting trials on the topology through the GTS comparison process, then obtained data that will be used as material comparison between the use of the GTS with the use of CSMA-CA method. With the data generated we also know the advantages and disadvantages of each use of GTS of these parameters compared to using the CSMA-CA method. This research is expected to get the final result which shows that with star topology with comparison from 1 to 7 GTS can be better than using CSMA-CA method in terms of throughput, latency, energy efficiency, and total packet sent.
