Abstract

Two large books on allergy were published in 1937. The new edition of Albert H. Rowe's 1 book is entitled Clinical Allergy Due to Foods, Inhalants, Contactants, Fungi, Bacteria, and Other Causes: Manifestations, Diagnosis and Treatment. Louis Tuft's 2 book is entitled simply Clinical Allergy. Both books cover the literature well and present the subject in all its aspects. In addition, several reviews of particular aspects of allergy are available in current journals. Francis Scott Smyth 3 has presented a series of critical reviews of allergic disease, the last two being published in the Journal of Allergy and in the Journal of Pediatrics . Hansel 4 once more reviews the current literature on allergy as related to otolaryngology and ophthalmology. Feinberg 5 presents Progress in Asthma and Hay Fever; the Literature for 1936, and Sulzberger 6 writes on the Allergic Manifestations of Dermatology.
