Abstract
Following its recent acquisition by The Carlyle Group and GIC for €10.1 billion [ADPO, May 2018], the former AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals business has been relaunched as an independent speciality company under the new name of Nouryon. This new identity reflects the now privately-owned company's near-400-year heritage and harks back to one of its forerunners Noury & Van der Lande, a Dutch peroxide manufacturer founded in 1838. Charles W. Shaver has been appointed as Nouryon's CEO.
