Abstract

The article introduces the method of applied kinesiology.The potential danger of projections in the application of subjective diagnostic and therapeutic methods is illustrated.Special emphasis is given to the combination of acupuncture theory and applied kinesiology. The theory of five phase acupuncture is demonstrated as an example of a metaphoric system, which should not be misinterpreted as facts in a rigid way.The second part of the article gives a critical overview of the possibilities of application of acupuncture in the context of applied kinesiology: >Therapy concepts using syndrome diagnosis and five phase acupuncture;>therapy of musculoskeletal disorders via tendinomuscular meridians;>energetic meridian balancing.
