Abstract

This paper presents accreditation and standardization in forensic science as a factor influencing their reliability. The application of the international standard ISO 17025, which applies to the accreditation of forensic laboratories, is summarized. In order to further the reliability of forensic work and procedures, as one of the foundations of a just and just justice, the paper gives a review of what is the future of forensic accreditation. This is mostly and mainly related to the work of the TC 272 Technical Committee, which is based on the development and application of forensic standards, which will cover a complete forensic process from finding material traces on the spot to present findings and opinions of the forensic court judges.
