Abstract

Abstract Selective air oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides was accomplished with a binary catalytic system, BiBr3-Bi(NO3)3, in high yields under aerial ambient conditions. This oxygenation requires neither an aldehyde nor a transition metal complex.
