Digital ecology has recently become a conceptually new branch of knowledge and research. The development of digital ecology as a separate direction is explained due to the rapid transformation of the technosphere in the twenty-first century. This article examines the development of the digital ecology concept and introduced two theoretical approaches to the concept’s understanding resulting in separation digital ecology associated with mobile technologies, IT technologies and services from digital ecology as a product of the information systems functioning. The article investigates the synthesis of sustainable development and digitalization as the key features of the modern states’ environmental agenda. This paper analyzes the measures that are already undertaken in this field on the example of the Federal Republic of Germany and contains the study of such German projects within the digital agenda as ProgRess and Digital Product Passport. The central pillars for the implementation of the planned programs are outlined and the general recommendations for promoting digital ecology are developed.

Access to credible building product performance information throughout the design and construction process is critical to enable project development, vet product selections, ensure as-built quality, and successfully complete construction. This is common knowledge and part of common practice for nearly all parties involved in design and construction. The sources of such information can range from vernacular to formal – from common practice to special reference. The focus of this paper is one of the more formal or specialized information sources, performance testing, as well as how such performance testing information can be better used. This paper's goals are to familiarize the reader with performance testing and to depict a new kind of valuable informational tool (digital ecology). Reference to pertinent nomenclature, description of a real world example, and detailed description of such an informational tool's values will be provided.The major content of this paper was developed during project-based work and firm-funded internal research at point b design, ltd. over approximately the previous 4 years. The phrase ‘digital ecology' as herein used is a new concept proposed by the author. The analysis contained in this paper could be applied to the field of operations and maintenance as it is herein applied to design and construction; however, operations and maintenance is beyond the scope of this paper and may be addressed in future papers. It is my hope that this paper will contribute to tangible and real improvements of the built environment via continued, positive development within academic and professional practice.

Digital technologies increasingly mediate relations between humans and nonhumans in a range of contexts including environmental governance, surveillance, and entertainment. Combining approaches from more-than-human and digital geographies, we proffer ‘digital ecologies’ as an analytical framework for examining digitally-mediated human–nonhuman entanglement. We identify entanglement as a compelling basis from which to articulate and critique digitally-mediated relations in diverse situated contexts. Three questions guide this approach: What digital technologies and infrastructures give rise to digital entanglement, and with what material consequences? What is at stake socially, politically, and economically when encounters with nonhumans are digitised? And how are digital technologies enrolled in programmes of environmental governance? We develop our digital ecologies framework across three core conceptual themes of wider interest to environmental geographers: (i) materialities, considering the infrastructures which enable digitally-mediated more-than-human connections and their socioenvironmental impacts; (ii) encounters, examining the political economic consequences and convivial potentials of digitising contact zones; (iii) governance, questioning how digital technologies produce novel forms of more-than-human governance. We affirm that digital mediations of more-than-human worlds can potentially cultivate environmentally progressive communities, convivial human–nonhuman encounters, and just forms of environmental governance, and as such note the urgency of these conversations.

Digitisation produces unique understandings of, and access to, nonhuman worlds, and reshapes conservation, environmentalism, and ecological politics. This chapter explores the disciplinary trends in more-than-human and digital geographies, outlining how the shared empirical and ethical interests can pose a range of questions for future research in the emerging field of ‘digital ecologies’. We exemplify this by focusing on peregrine falcons in the UK, emphasising how their resurgence over the last two decades has been entangled with digital technologies and mediation. Specifically, we focus on ‘nestcams’ - livestreaming webcams positioned in peregrine nests - showing how they opening up novel and convivial modes of human-nature relation. We show how nestcams digitally mediate urban space, reconfiguring the urban as a wild space, but one in which wildness, care, and conviviality come together. We conclude with future avenues for research in digital ecologies, encouraging geographers to experiment with participatory and interdisciplinary digital methods.

Planetary crises such as climate change and biodiversity loss threaten both ecosystem stability and human health, prompting the emergence of "Digital Ecologies"—integrated networks of sensors, communication technologies, and data analytics—as critical infrastructures for monitoring and mitigation. This systematic review synthesizes knowledge on how such systems integrate environmental data to advance sustainability and public health goals simultaneously. Following PRISMA guidelines, we analyzed 92 studies that met strict inclusion criteria, revealing that integrated frameworks span domains from urban air quality to public health surveillance. These are operationalized through dominant paradigms including Geospatial Intelligence Systems, Ambient Sensing Networks, and Participatory & Citizen Science Platforms, which enable a bidirectional flow of data where environmental information guides health interventions and health data validates environmental models. While case studies demonstrate efficacy in specific use-cases, quantitative evidence of impact remains limited beyond metrics like pollutant reduction. Significant implementation challenges persist, including data siloing, interoperability issues, and equitable barriers like the digital divide and data sovereignty concerns. The findings conclude that while Digital Ecologies offer a transformative evidence base for proactive interventions, future progress hinges on generating more robust outcome data and prioritizing community-centered design and ethical governance to ensure equitable sustainability and public health.

Girls in the juvenile justice system routinely have their cell phones and internet access removed as a part of court orders. Building on feminist criminology and ecological systems theory, this paper will demonstrate that phone removal causes a rupture of girls’ digital ecology. This rupture exacerbates strains conducive to crime and victimization. Findings are generated from an ethnographic study that took place in a Northeastern United States city. Forty-two girls took part in focus groups and a series of interviews, and 22 practitioners took part in semi-structured interviews. This research shows that phones act as a positive and protective force supporting girls through feelings of safety, helping them cope with challenging events at home and on the street. Understanding the phone as a part of a broader ecology contextualizes why girls would subsequently commit crimes to restore their digital ecology.

Three main claims form the basis of this article. First, that digital museum objects are relational objects and therefore active participants in networks of interaction through which their evolving meaning is formed and reformed. Second, that there exists a digital ecology, comprised of both physical and digital elements, in which digital museum objects are situated. Third, and finally, I contend that this digital ecology both facilitates and limits interactions with digital museum objects. The purpose of this article is to examine digital museum objects in digital ecologies and to understand who such ecologies are working for, and more importantly, who they are working against.

Purpose. The paper deals with the role of new digital technologies in learning. 
 The tasks for the research are the following: to bring readers with an up-to-date range of new learning and teaching technologies, explore the notion of "ecology of e-learning" by analyzing the dynamics of student and teacher interactions in e-learning environments, investigate critically the ways in which technologies can create openings for new pedagogical practices, and also at times fossilize old pedagogical practices that perhaps should have been already abandoned, explore the "affordances" framework as a checklist used to analyze educational technologies and their associated pedagogical practices. 
 Methodology. The methods of the educational research context, data collection, data analysis and reporting of the students’ responses have been applied. Some interviews have been conducted in this study to receive the answers of different students and lecturers at Kharkiv University of Humanities ‘People’s Ukrainian Academy’. The basis for our research has been scientific and pedagogical studies relevant to future foreign languages teachers’ professional training in distance education conditions.
 Results. Didactic and reflexive pedagogy have been analyzed and compared. The following aspects have been analyzed: ubiquitous learning, active knowledge making, multimodal meaning, recursive feedback, collaborative intelligence, metacognition, differentiated learning. It is emphasized that digital ecologies and the new learning spaces afforded by technologies provide us with the availability to have a group of learners in a space where not all of them have to be tracking the same page, the same task at the same time. It is possible to create learning experiences for individuals and for groups with specific needs and to be able then to pace either the whole group or to pace the individual, to track an individual or to track the whole class depends on the learning process, either for the whole class or the individual, in order to adjust the instruction, the data, the information that the learner or the class has, so that they are able to meet their goals. It is highlighted that every child in the classroom even if they are the same age, or if they are the same background are unique in some way. The orientation to learning or their behavior, or their understanding of their purpose is molded by each one’s life experience. Educators have a responsibility to show that every learner is transformed, progresses, is able to understand and engage with and represent knowledge in a way that meets their needs of being an educated person that can move through the formal school system.
 Conclusions. Working within digital spaces allows us to harness the attention of every learner, to tailor educational process for their needs, to track whether they are performing or not and to adjust what we are doing. It provides us with the ability to make sure that all learners can be engaged. It means a different kind of plan. It certainly means collaborating. Collaborative intelligence for teachers in preparing, work and instruction in this space is also a key to the kinds of solutions that possible. 
 It means designing lessons with the learners in mind, not only with just pacing ones way through the standards or with any kind of curriculum, it is aligning the standards to individual's needs and deconstructing them and reconstructing them in order to pace individuals and groups so that they can progress towards higher or to goals. It means for the teacher expanding their instructional repertoires to be able to address all the learners in the classroom and as well as expanding the capacity to work with others to bring in experts through the digital ecologies that might be able to support individual learners.

The experience of digital platforms in the 2020s is often marked by a lack of ethical care: increasing rates of online abuse, trolling and adversarial speech in many cases lead to harmful outcomes including suicidality. Underlying the ineffectiveness of extant regulation and platform policy has been a significant focus on users as individuals rather than as participants in a digital ecology with ethical responsibilities for the care of the other. Addressing these harms calls for cultural change in how we perceive interactive communication, digital use, bodies and subjectivity. This paper asks what a feminist approach might contribute to the framing of improved online communication and the detoxification of the digital ecology. Drawing on recent work on non-violence by Judith Butler and approaches to ecologies and infrastructure by Lauren Berlant, the paper proposes an ethics of mutual care in communication, recognising communication and interactivity and online sociality as an a priori factor of liveable human lives.

The research is aimed at identifying the conditions for the formation of the ecological agriculture concept aimed at creating a sustainable, environmentally friendly and efficient agricultural production system. The main idea is to use natural processes and resources to ensure a harvest while maintaining the environmental balance. Ecological farming can be an important step towards sustainable agriculture and environmental sustainability, but it requires a balance between positive and challenging aspects, as well as additional research and innovation to achieve optimal results. The study used methods of system analysis and synthesis, Agile methodology, axiological, synergistic, ecological and humanistic methods and approaches, which allowed us to reveal new directions for improving ecological agriculture (agriculture) as a social factor of environmental sustainability and food security. With this approach, it is possible to combat environmental problems more effectively and develop sustainable approaches to the use of the planet's resources. The main task of implementing digital ecology is to create conditions for the transition to an open, healthy and safe digital ecology, which represents the intended transition to eco-civilisation. The conditions for the formation of an effective mechanism for the ecological development of a secure digital ecosystem are revealed. Digital ecology is one of the key areas aimed at preserving the environment and ensuring the long-term viability of our planet as an eco-civilisation.

Traditional retail enterprises must transform and upgrade, which will achieve better profits. By integrating into the Internet, Suning e-commerce launched an e-commerce model. Through the e-commerce platform, Suning can easily experience online shopping, which will improve sales through price strategy. Through e-commerce, Suning continues to expand its market scale, which also continues to ensure its position in the industry. Through the Internet platform, Suning ensures the stable profit level of the enterprise, which can ensure the transformation of the enterprise to the profit model (hereinafter referred to as PM). Firstly, this paper analyzes the main retail models. Then, this paper constructs a PM of SR in digital ecology. Finally, some suggestions are put forward.
