Adoption of superior varieties is a strategy for maintaining regional food production. Sarinah rice cultivar is a type of rice that is resistant to several types of pests and plant diseases. This variety is cultivated by farmers in several areas in West Java Province. This study aims to investigate: (1) the association between rice cultivation technology and farming performance; (2) the relationship between farmer group dynamics and farm performance; and (3) the joint effects of rice cultivation technology and farmer group dynamics on the overall performance of rice farming. This study employed a survey method, with the analytical unit consisting of farmers who are members of farmer groups cultivating Sarinah rice cultivar in Bojongpicung Subdistrict, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province. Sampling technique was carried out using a census approach, involving a total of 30 respondents. Collected data were analysed using path analysis, with analytical procedures aligned with results of hypothesis testing. Results of study indicate that adoption of rice cultivation technology is significantly associated with farming success, accounting for 30.4% of variation. In comparison, farmer group dynamics show a stronger significant association, explaining 64.0% of the variation. Among two factors, farmer group dynamics exhibited strongest relationship with farming success. Rice cultivation technology and farmer group dynamics, when considered simultaneously, have a significant combined effect on farming success, accounting for 94.4% of the variation. Remaining 5.6% is attributed to other factors that were not examined in this study.

This study aims to examine the dynamics of farmer groups engaged in rice paddy farming in Peatoa Village, Loea District, East Kolaka Regency. The population under investigation consisted of all wet-rice farmers who were members of farmer groups in Peatoa Village, with a total of 54 wet-rice farmers. The sample was determined using the census method, whereby the entire population was included in the study, resulting in a research sample of 54 respondents. This research employs a quantitative approach. Data were gathered through survey methods, interviews, and documentation via media in the form of questionnaires. The data were processed using a quantitative descriptive method with the class interval formula and Spearman Rank correlation, with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicated that the dynamics of paddy rice farmer groups in Peatoa Village had a positive impact on farm development. The majority of farmer group members shared similar goals. Group structure involved the division of tasks and responsibilities among members. The farmer groups demonstrate a high level of group task function. The farmer group coaching is progressing well. Each group member exhibits high levels of cohesion, which reflects effective unity and cohesiveness in managing rice paddy farming. A positive group atmosphere enhances cooperation, engagement, and productivity. The level of farmer group activity is an important factor in farm success. Overall, the farmer group dynamics in Peatoa Village show positive patterns, providing insights for agricultural policy development and community development in the region. Further enhancements to the dynamics of farmer groups may also be considered to enhance the productivity of wet-rice farming.

Group dynamics is one way to attract the interest of young people today to be interested in agriculture, especially rice farming. The current Covid-19 pandemic, the younger generation can carry out farming activities to fill leisure activities due to the large-scale social restrictions policy (PSBB). This study aims to analyze the factors that simultaneously influence group dynamics and the interests of the younger generation, and formulate appropriate strategies to increase the interest of young people through group dynamics in rice farming activities. The study was conducted in Baleraja Village and Situraja Village, Gantar Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency in March to June 2020. The population in the study was 62 people who were members of the farmers group, all of whom were research respondents. The variables in this study are individual characteristics, social support, group dynamics and the interests of young people. Primary data collection using instruments in the form of questionnaires. Data were processed using descriptive analysis and path analysis techniques. The results of the study on the interests of the younger generation were in the medium category with a share of 51.6 percent. The interest of the younger generation is directly affected by group dynamics. The social environment has a direct effect on group dynamics and an indirect effect on the interests of the younger generation. Strategies to increase the interest of young people can be done through strengthening group dynamics and developing the social environment. Coffee was one of the important plantation commodities in the national economy. This can be seen from the role of the coffee plantation sector in providing employment plants, providing the State's foreign exchange through exports. One of the goals of coffee farmers in managing their farming was to make a profit. In achieving this goal, farmers face several obstacles. By joining farmers in a farmer group forum can help explore the potential, solve the farming problems of its members, thus farmer groups have a strategic position in realizing quality farmers. The research was conducted in Sukasari Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency with the unit (subject) of analysis being 70 farmers who cultivated coffee in the harvest season from January to March 2020 Hypothesis testing. path. There was a positive relationship between the dynamics of farmer groups and farmer management. This was evidenced by the correlation value between the dynamics of farmer groups (X1) and managerial farmers (X2) which reached 84.1%. The better the group dynamics, the better the farmer's managerial, which consists of technical skills and business / skills aspects. The dynamics of farmer groups and farmer managerial influences positively on the success of coffee farming. the higher the value of farmer group dynamics (X1) and farmer managerial (X2), the effect on the increase in farming (Y).

This study used descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews. The data in this study is in the form of primary and secondary data. The analysis activities use the Spearman Level Correlation Coefficient Test (rs). The results showed that there was a real relationship between the characteristics of farmers (area of arable land and farming experience) with the success of agricultural technology and information programs, while the age of farmers and the level of education of farmers had no real relationship with the success of agricultural technology and information programs. There is a clear relationship between the dynamics of farmer groups and the success of agricultural technology and information programs.

  • Dian Mirawati + 2 more

The dynamism of farmer groups is influenced by internal factors, namely the farmer group itself, and external factors, namely the role of the Agriculture Extension Worker (AEW). This research was carried out in West Lombok Regency with the criteria of selecting 2 sub-districts in West Lombok Regency which had a larger dry land area compared to other sub-districts, namely Sekotong District and Lembar District; from each sub-district 3, villages were selected with the criteria of having the largest number of farmers, determining selected farmer groups based on criteria. Farmer groups have been registered in the Decree of the Head of the West Lombok Regency Agricultural Service and have been recorded in the agricultural extension system (simluhtan). This research aimed to analyze the role of AEW, the dynamics of farmer groups, and the influence of the role of Agriculture Extension Worker (AEW) on the dynamics of farmer groups in dryland farming areas in West Lombok Regency. The analytical method used was descriptive analysis with a Likert scale by giving a score of 1-5 for each criterion for each indicator. The research results showed that the respondents' assessment of the role of field agricultural instructors as facilitators, educators, motivators, and organizers was in a good category. Farming group dynamics seen from the aspects of group goals, group structure, task functions, group coaching and development, group cohesiveness, group atmosphere, and group effectiveness was in the quite good category, and the relationship/correlation between the role of AEW and the dynamics of farmer groups was very strong.
