Abstract
The reactions of titanium and tin tetrachlorides with thiols and dithiols have been investigated. Adducts are formed initially but these are hydrolytically and thermally unstable. Analytical and thermal data together with i.r. and mass spectra are used to characterise these adducts, and their structure is discussed.
