Abstract
In view of the great importance of English social history which is deserving of the closest study not only on account of its special character but also because it is in many respects the prototype of European social history, it is highly gratifying to the International Institute for Social History, that it has been able greatly to extend its English section as the result of the acquisition of a large collection of publications in this domain. With the books and documents already in its possession, the Institute is now in a position to offer research students material covering a remarkably wide range of subjects concerned with English social history.
