Abstract

AbstractThis article introduces a theoretical method based on the resolution of Maxwell's equations in the time domain using an extended version of a FDTD algorithm. This approach allows the modeling of optical pulse propagation in nonlinear media; for this, dispersive and nonlinear models have been introduced in the code. Two versions of the method are proposed, the accuracy of this approach is shown, and then some results on the propagation of a soliton are given. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
