Abstract

A narrative review, written in lecture form and addressed to intensivists working in oncological institutions, is devoted to the analysis of modern approaches to the treatment of patients with acute liver failure based on the pathogenesis of this lifethreatening complication. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of tactics for managing such patients from the point of view of both general therapy priorities and many of its particular aspects – hemodynamics and hemostasis control, metabolic pharmacotherapy, nutrition, efferent detoxification technologies. The reader’s attention is drawn to fundamental difference between new approaches from outdated ones.
