Abstract

ABSTRACT Acid treatment alters the carbon content of organic materials. An analysis of the effect of various concentrations of various acids on the carbon content of benzenesulfonamide, crab muscle and salt marsh grass indicates that 5 per cent hydrochloric acid is an appropriate treatment for removing calcium carbonate from organic materials.
