Abstract

Abstract Tooth enamel was exposed to Er:YAG laser. The laser beam was absorbed onto the enamel without black paint and caused acid resistance of the enamel. Alteration of the enamel surface was similar to that of Nd:YAG laser irradiation. Extent of acid resistance of enamel surface or subsurface enamel was higher in Er:YAG laser than that of Nd:YAG laser.
