Abstract

Achievement growth modeling is the process of summarizing achievement for students or groups of students across multiple timepoints, and is widely used by state accountability systems in the United States to characterize growth. This entry provides a general overview of measuring growth, presents some historical perspective, covers different methods, and discusses some statistical properties of growth measures.
