Abstract

The effect of finite-rate transmit correlation feedback on the achievable rate of statistical beamforming is investigated. A closed-form upper-bound of the achievable rate of statistical beamforming with finite-rate transmit correlation feedback is derived. It is shown that the achievable rate of statistical beamforming is significantly affected by the number of quantisation bits of the transmit correlation coefficient. The analytical results are verified by computer simulation.
