Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, we mainly study the famous Adini's non‐conforming finite element for plate‐bending problems on anisotropic meshes. Without the regular assumption on the meshes, the interpolation error and consistency error estimates are both of order O(h2) (h is the maximum diameter of elements), which improves the conventional results of this element. Lastly, a numerical test is carried out, which coincides with our theoretical analysis. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
