Abstract

Several searches for violations of the Pauli exclusion principle (PEP) in nuclei have been proposed and some of them performed. They include a search for energetic protons and α-particles arising from PEP violating processes induced by protons on carbon as well as accelerator mass spectrometry searches for non-Paulian nuclei in natural samples and samples from nuclear reactors and explosions. Measured limits of cross section ratios between the PEP violating processes and elastic scattering are of the order of 1 × 10 −13. An upper limit of 1.4 × 10 −14was obtained for the abundance of non-Paulian 5L̃i in natural lithium.
