Accelerated Development of Cultural Equipment Industry in China

Abstract

The cultural equipment industry is an important component of a country’s cultural soft power, and is an industrial cluster that provides all kinds of equipment for cultural undertakings, cultural industries and public culture, that is to say, it is the manufacturing and service industries for the production of cultural equipment, and is also a technology-, capital-, and intellectual-intensive industry. In order to promote the cultural soft power and meet the growing cultural consumption of the people, China must accelerate the development of cultural equipment industry. The relevant emphases would be placed on the following four aspects: firstly, it is necessary to form a combination strategy of leading and scale, which not only highlights the forward-looking of research and development, but also forms the scale advantage; secondly, it should focus on the continuous renewal of cultural science and technology, and establish a strategic industrial layout; thirdly, it should build the base and industrial cluster of integrated innovation, combine national cultural space pattern, assemble a large number of cultural equipment enterprises, build industrial cooperation circles, and establish industrial chains and product series; fourthly, to expand the path of two-way opening-up and industrial upgrading, we should actively integrate into the value chain of global culture equipment industries in the background of advocating the Belt and Road Initiative”. With international excellent service platforms, major exhibitions, and R&D projects, we also should absorb the international advanced scientific and technological achievements, develop cultural equipment with independent intellectual property rights, set more international standards about culture equipment, expand China’s great say in the global cultural equipment market and enhance the international competitiveness of China’s cultural equipment industry.
