Abstract

Radioactive microspheres delivered during infusion of 90Y preferentially localize to hypervascular neoplasms. 99mTc-MAA injection at mapping angiography measures shunting to the lungs and also simulates 90Y therapy. Tumor versus normal liver uptake (TVNL) is measured at 99mTc-MAA SPECT scanning. Higher TVNL should theoretically correlate with improved delivery of 90Y and better outcomes. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether patients with higher TVNL have better responses following 90Y therapy.
