Abstract

Over the past two decades, transsplenic splenoportography (TSSP) for portal venous imaging has been replaced with arterial portography, CT, US and MRI due to its potential for bleeding complications. However, these procedures can be equivocal and lack the ability to provide dynamic information about the portal venous flow. Purpose: To use our institutional experience with TSSP to illustrate its usefulness and safety in the evaluation of paediatric portal hypertension.
