Abstract
The nanocrystalline Bi 4Ti 3O 12Na 2TiO 3 solid solution has a significant red shift of optical absorption band edge and its modes at low-energy Raman spectrum soften with the decrease of grain size. The results are in contradiction with the nanocrystalline Bi 4Ti 3O 12 and are related to the interfacial half paired dipole layer of the particle.
