Abstract

The generalized oscillator strength distributions (GOSDs) of helium for the energy region of 24.6-44.6 eV are determined by an angle-resolved electron-energy-loss spectrometer at an incident electron energy of 2500 eV and with the momentum transfer range of 0.01 to 0.90 au. A new method of correcting the influence of angular resolution to obtain the correct GOSDs and optical oscillator strength distributions is advanced. The present results are also compared with previous experimental and theoretical results.
