Abstract

Rationale: Adenosine A1 receptors and α2-adrenoceoptors share functional similarities in the kidney, in terms of vasoconstrictor activity, signalling pathways and impact on renal function. We compared the vasoactive properties of CCPA (A1 agonist) and clonidine on porcine renal arteries and veins.
