Abstract
The statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia indicate a steady increase in the number of frauds, including frauds committed without any visual contact with a victim. From a forensic point of view, new ways of committing these frauds are emerging. These crimes often cause difficulties for law enforcement officers due to the lack of methods for their disclosure and investigation. The authors consider some current ways of committing a fraud without any visual contact with a victim and suggest methods for preventing this category of crimes. The purpose of the study. To consider and analyze the most relevant ways of committing a fraud without any visual contact with a victim, to analyze methods of their prevention. Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the research was the method of materialistic dialectics as a general method of scientific cognition, which has a universal character. In addition, the authors applied such private scientific research methods as description, generalization, comparison, analysis and synthesis. The results of the study. The authors considered the main, most relevant ways of committing a fraud committed without any visual contact with a victim and also provided measures to prevent this category of crimes. Findings and conclusions. The article presents some current methods of committing a fraud without any visual contact with a victim and measures to prevent from committing of these crimes, which can be used in the formation of private forensic methods of fraud investigation and be useful to an investigator in choosing means and methods of investigation, putting forward investigative versions and determining the tactics of investigative actions in order to complete, timely, comprehensive disclosure and investigation of crimes.
