Abstract

Compensations of phase errors on the Fourier transformed plane in coherent optical processors are studied by introducing suitable aberrations in the image reconstructing lens. The contributions of each type of aberration to those errors are analysed for the cases of convolution and optical correlation. Tolerance limits are obtained for the transforming lens and calculated for a typical case.
