Abstract

Pituitary adenoma (PA) is defined as an abnormal growth in the anterior pituitary gland. pituitary adenomas represent about 15% of all intracranial tumours. This study aimed to find out the incidence of pituitary adenoma in patients admitted to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) in adult patients (>20 years old). This research could lead to decrease morbidity and mortality rates of PA and a better understanding of the true disease burden and its management.
