Abstract

The effect of decrease of the networked system performance with CSMA-based MAC protocol under heavy load conditions is analyzed. The improvement of the average performance of a networked monitoring and control system using the event-triggered sampling is studied. The traffic reduction using the event-based sampling scheme for some time responses of the first and second-order control systems is evaluated. The final event-triggered sampling effectiveness including heartbeat observations is formulated.
