Abstract

A two-channel laser interferometric complex intended for measuring the velocities of surfaces in shock-wave experiments is described, and its characteristics are given. The interferometric channels of the complex are constructed according to the VISAR two-arm interferometer scheme. The velocity measurement error is 6–15 m/s in a range up to 3000 m/s, and the time resolution is 2 ns or better. Owing to these characteristics, the complex can be used in experiments on light-gas guns and in explosion experiments for determining dynamic characteristics of structural materials and kinetics of detonation of blasting explosives.
