Abstract
The UK’s retail energy market is very dynamic. The number of suppliers is changing with some companies leaving the market and some entering. Having a full picture of the players within the sector may be considered daunting. While acknowledging the limitations in getting a definite list of company, this paper presents a typology of UK Energy Service Brands based on their sizes, licencing arrangement and their source of energy. It is anticipated that this will makes two key contributions to the literature. First, it extends the understanding of energy brands in the United Kingdom and secondly, aid future research and theoretical framework development in the UK energy sector.
