Abstract A triply hydrogen-bonding system has been constructed between bis(biphenylbiguanidado)nickel(II) ([Ni(bpbg)2]) and phenobarbital (Phbar), which has been characterized by the IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopies and the X-ray structure analysis.
