Abstract

6. The Wihara Buddhayana, recently rebaptised thus, is one of the oldest buildings of Djakarta to have survived down to this day. Situated on Djalan Lautze to the north of Pasar Baru, it is used as a Chinese kelenteng; in fact it is a residence {landhuis) constructed in 1736 by Coyett, a member of the Raad van Indie. There, one can still see the collection of Indo-Javanese statues brought from central Java by this servant of the Company.
