Abstract

In this paper a tool designed for analyzing music performance is introduced. The tool interprets a performance of a piano piece and lists the “errors” it finds by comparing the performance to a pre-recorded expert performance of that piece, utilizing MIDI files. It is primarily intended to be used in piano education. Examples of applications as well as the architecture and design of the tool are given.
