Tourism is closely related to it because of its green attribute. It is of great significance to demonstrate whether tourism development can promote the construction of ecological civilization and explore its spatial spillover characteristics. This paper built a theoretical framework of the impact of tourism development on urban ecological civilization construction and spatial spillover effects. The ecological civilization construction level (ECC) of 284 prefecture level and above cities in China from 2004 to 2019 was measured by entropy weight TOPSIS method; The spatial Doberman model is used to reveal the impact of tourism development on the construction of urban ecological civilization and spatial spillover effect. The results show that:(1) the ECC of each city has improved to varying degrees, the relatively high value areas were concentrated along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River economic belt, and the low value areas were mostly distributed in the central and western regions; On the regional scale, ECC in each region has been in a decreasing pattern of east-middle-west for a long time, and there is an obviously spatial dislocation between the internal differences of regional ECC and the development level of ECC among various regions. (2)Tourism development can significantly promote the construction of ecological civilization in local and adjacent cities, which is embodied in the improvement of the level under the "three wheel drive", and its driving force on the urban economic system is significantly greater than that of the ecological and social system. (3) The impact of tourism development on urban ecological civilization construction and spatial spillover effect in the east, middle and west regions have been released. Under the spatial heterogeneity, the intensity of the two effects basically overlaps with the urban ECC. (4) In terms of policy development, In order to bring into play the industrial externalities of tourism for the construction of ecological civilization, local governments should actively promote the digitalization of tourism and the integration of tourism and cultural industries, based on the principle of "ecological priority" in the long term; on the other hand, Chinese Government need to strengthen the transfer of special funds for tourism and establish a mechanism to support tourism between the eastern and western cities in order to achieve the development of tourism in the western region. 参考文献 相似文献 引证文献

How does the construction of China’s ecological civilization affect the health burden of urban and rural residents?
  • Dec 1, 2022
  • Chinese Journal of Population, Resources and Environment
  • Longlong Duan + 1 more

Accelerating the construction of ecological civilization and promoting the management of health environment problems is one of the core elements of the implementation of the “Beautiful China” and “Healthy China” strategies with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Based on the scientific connotation of ecological civilization, this paper systematically assesses the level of interprovincial ecological civilization construction in China using the combined CRITIC empowerment method and explores the impact of ecological civilization construction on the health burden of urban and rural residents using interprovincial panel data from 2003 to 2018 with the help of panel feasible generalized least squares, simultaneous equation estimation, and the extended regression model. It is found that there is a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between provincial ecological civilization construction and urban and rural residents’ economic health burden, as well as a significant U-shaped relationship between ecological civilization construction and urban and rural residents’ disease burden. Fiscal decentralization, urbanization, and industrialization are the three important indirect mechanisms through which ecological civilization affects the health burden of urban and rural residents, and fiscal decentralization plays a typical role in crowding out the health effect of ecological civilization. In the eastern and central regions, ecological civilization construction has effectively reduced the health burden of urban and rural residents, but it is more significant for improving the economic health burden of rural residents. While the “catching-up trend” of the progress of ecological civilization construction in the western region is obvious, ecological civilization plays an important role in alleviating the economic health burden of urban residents. After the robustness test, the conclusion still holds. This study provides an important empirical basis for local governments to improve the accuracy of their policies in promoting the “Beautiful China” and “Healthy China” strategies.

  • Huiqiong Huang + 3 more

It is crucial to clarify the relationship between ecological industry development and ecological civilization construction, as well as their driving forces, to promote high-quality local development. The ecological environment of the karst region is fragile, and it faces a contradiction between ecological preservation and economic advancement. Coordinating the relationship between economic development and ecological protection is crucial for achieving sustainable development in rural karst regions. This study identified karst characteristics in Guizhou province, China, by constructing an index system for ecological industry development and civilization construction. It employed the entropy weight method to calculate a comprehensive score and utilized a coupling coordination model to analyze interactions and symbiotic coordination. Finally, a linear regression analysis model was employed to analyze the impact of ecological industrial development on the construction of ecological civilization. The results indicate the following: (1) The ecological industry and ecological civilization construction levels exhibited a relatively stable growth trajectory across three research areas from 2011 to 2021, with the ecological civilization construction index outperforming the ecological industry development index. (2) The correlation analysis indicated a relationship between the two indices in the research areas, and the divergence trend among the three research areas rose in a uniform direction, indicating a strong positive correlation between the two indices. From the perspective of the coupling degree (C), the degree of coupling between ecological industry and ecological civilization construction in the three research areas exceeded 0.9, indicating a high level of coordination. This suggests that ecological civilization construction and ecological industry in these research areas are effectively coordinated and exist in a state of harmonious co-promotion. There were differences from the coupling coordination degree (D) perspective, but they increased in the three research areas. (3) The regression analysis results indicate that the per capita agricultural output value, per capita forestry output value, per capita forage industry output value, industrial solid waste utilization rate, energy consumption per unit of GDP, tourism income, rocky desertification level, and proportion of the labor force population with a high school education or higher significantly contribute to the development of ecological civilization. The per capita forestry output value greatly advances ecological civilization, significantly enhancing ecological culture and security. The coefficients are 0.0354 and 0.0393, respectively, indicating that a 1% rise in the per capita forestry output value results in increases of 0.0354% and 0.0393% in the ecological culture and security indices.

  • Xiao Li

Rural revitalization strategy is the basis of promoting the comprehensive construction of a well-off society. It aims to achieve the harmonious coexistence between man and nature and realize the green development of rural areas by creating a new ecological and livable rural development model. Implementing the rural revitalization strategy is an important deployment to promote the construction of socialist ecological civilization, and ecological revitalization is the key to implementing the rural revitalization strategy. To effectively integrate the construction of ecological civilization into all aspects and the whole process of economic construction, we need to deal with the cooperative governance relationship among government, market, social organizations and the public. At present, the requirements of rural ecological civilization construction in China are well known, but the forces that hinder and destroy the construction of rural ecological civilization still exist. Based on the perspective of multiple cooperative governance, this paper discusses the value status and path selection of rural ecological revitalization in the implementation of Rural Revitalization Strategy, so as to realize the win-win strategy of multiple subjects, and construct the multi subject collaborative governance to promote the construction of ecological civilization in China.

How to Evaluate Provincial Ecological Civilization Construction? The Case of Jiangsu Province, China
  • Jul 24, 2020
  • International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health
  • Feng Dong + 3 more

Ecological civilization is a transcendence of industrial civilization. The improvement of China’s ecological civilization system can not only provide developing countries with an empirical reference for ecological civilization construction, but also make a huge contribution to the progress of global ecological civilization. This paper focuses on improving the provincial ecological civilization evaluation system. First, the Provincial Ecological Civilization Construction Evaluation Index System is established according to the Green Development Index System issued by the Chinese government in 2016, and then the applicability of the Spatio-Temporal Factor Analysis (STFA) is verified as the evaluation method of the provincial ecological civilization construction level. Further, taking Jiangsu Province, China as an example, this paper evaluates the level of ecological civilization construction in each city of Jiangsu Province, and analyzes the main factors affecting ecological civilization based on the evaluation results. Finally, according to the relationship between the ecological civilization construction and economic quality of each city, the four-quadrant method is applied to divide Jiangsu Province into four types of regions to help each city position itself in ecological civilization construction. This paper mainly draws the following conclusions: (1) Due to its simple operation and accurate evaluation results, STFA is applicable in evaluating the provincial ecological civilization construction level. (2) Taking Jiangsu Province as an example, it is found that the level of ecological civilization construction in the southwestern region is higher than that of the northeast coastal region in Jiangsu. Three inequality indices are applied to measure the regional inequality of ecological civilization construction among 13 cities, which is relatively high in recent years. (3) By analyzing the results of STFA, it is found that economic quality and natural protection are not only the main factors affecting the ecological civilization construction in Jiangsu province, but also the main reasons for the regional heterogeneity of provincial ecological civilization. (4) For the four types of regions, suggestions are proposed according to the characteristics of each region to help improve the provincial ecological civilization construction level. This paper not only improves China’s ecological civilization construction system, but also provides information for the provincial ecological civilization construction in developing countries.

Exploring the Coordinated Evolution Mechanism of Regional Sustainable Development and Tourism in China’s “Beautiful China” Initiative
  • May 3, 2023
  • Land
  • Xiaoyu Wang + 4 more

As the world’s largest developing country, China first proposed the construction of a Beautiful China initiative in 2012, with the aim of exploring Chinese solutions for sustainable regional development. The construction of a beautiful China is based on the guiding ideology of the Five-sphere Integrated Plan in China, that is, the overall plan for building socialism with Chinese characteristics, including economic construction, political construction, cultural construction, social construction and ecological civilization construction. This paper aims to understand the coupling relationship, as well as the spatial and temporal changes, between China’s sustainable development under the Beautiful China initiative and tourism. Using data from the China Statistical Yearbook database, we constructed an evaluation index system to measure both the construction of beautiful China and tourism development using a literature review, statistical analysis, the entropy method and GIS-based spatial analysis methods. Furthermore, using the 31 Chinese provinces as the research subject, we further analyzed the state of Beautiful China construction and tourism development, as well as their coupling relationships of the two systems. Our results show that firstly, the economic “hard power” plays the most prominent role in the process of building a beautiful China under the sustainable development regime, while the status of cultural “soft power” has also been well reflected. Secondly, the weight ranking of tourism evaluation indicators and the spatial distribution of tourism development levels both reflect the central and fundamental role of tourism market demand in tourism development. Third, the weight ranking of tourism evaluation indicators ranks the highest in the mean value of the coupling coordination degree of society, ecology and tourism in the Beautiful China subsystem, which reflects the harmony between society and ecology and the significant livelihood function of tourism as a happiness industry in the new era. Fourth, the spatial and temporal relationship between the coupled and coordinated development of the Beautiful China and tourism systems varies, indicating that there is a regional imbalance in China’s sustainable development. This further indicates the need to adapt to local conditions, and to build on strengths and avoid weaknesses to achieve regional sustainable development. The study highlights China’s contribution to global sustainable development. It also provides theoretical and practical guidance for the promotion of the coordinated development of both Beautiful China and tourism.

  • Genhong Chen

The report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China creatively clarified the general pattern of socialist construction as “five-in-one,” namely, the construction of economy, politics, culture, society, and ecological civilization and pointed out that the construction of ecological civilization should lead and integrate into socialism. This marks that China has entered a new era of ecological civilization and started the great historical journey of building a beautiful China. Ecological civilization education in colleges and universities is an important content and foundation of ecological civilization construction, which can provide sufficient human resources and intellectual preparation for ecological civilization construction, promote the popularization of ecological civilization concept in society, and promote the ecological transformation of economic and social development. Therefore, the education of ecological civilization in colleges and universities is not only the meaning of the integration of ecological civilization into higher education but also an initiative to implement the national strategy, and it is also a realistic demand for realizing the fundamental task of morality and cultivation of people in higher education. This research uses mobile Internet technology to study the path of ecological civilization education in Chinese colleges and universities mainly using the questionnaire survey method, on the basis of multiple stratified sampling, with the help of the revised Chinese New Environmental Paradigm Scale (Chinese New Environmental Paradigm Scale) to collect data.

The Integration of Marxist Ecological View and Traditional Chinese Farming Culture from the Perspective of “Two Combinations”
  • Jan 1, 2025
  • Open Journal of Philosophy
  • Wenjun Yan + 2 more

Two combinations, namely, adhering to the integration of the basic principles of Marxism with China’s specific realities and with the excellent traditional Chinese culture, are the core propositions of the ideological system of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and also an important methodology for promoting the construction of ecological civilization. The Marxist ecological view is based on the value of “reconciliation between man and nature,” while traditional Chinese farming culture is based on the practical ethics of “the unity of nature and man” and “moderation of use.” However, due to different times and cultural regions, there are many differences in the background and implementation methods. From the new perspective of “two combinations,” combined with the requirements of the times in the construction of contemporary ecological civilization, this paper systematically sorts out the theoretical logic and practical transformation of the integration of the two and explores the reality and implementation path of the integration of Marxism and traditional Chinese farming culture. Integration path analysis: 1) Promote theoretical construction. First, based on the “two combinations,” we must explore the theoretical model of agricultural civilization in which man and nature coexist harmoniously and create a new form of agricultural civilization with Chinese characteristics. Second, we must dig deep into traditional Chinese farming culture and ecological wisdom, find the point of convergence with Marxist ecological civilization thought, and build a research system of agricultural civilization with distinctive Chinese characteristics. Third, we must focus on cultivating a socialist agricultural civilization research and teaching team with high academic literacy and innovation ability, and produce a number of original theoretical achievements. 2) Promote the modernization and transformation of traditional Chinese farming culture. Adhere to the value guidance of the Marxist ecological view; realize the organic combination of tradition and modernity in farming culture; collaborative protection of farming culture is carried out through industrial coordination, education coordination, and institutional coordination. 3) Realize the Sinicization of the Marxist ecological concept. Translate the core concept of the Marxist ecological concept into cultural symbols that fit the national psychology and realize popularization.

On the Strategic Considerations and Paths Selection of Integrating Ecological Civilization into Economic Construction
  • Dec 1, 2017
  • Chinese Journal of Urban and Environmental Studies
  • Chengliang Huang

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the integration of ecological civilization construction with the development of economy, politics, culture, and society has not only been an established strategy of deepening and consolidating the “five-sphere integrated plan” of socialism with Chinese characteristics, but it has also been an important approach to achieve ecological civilization. In order to realize it, “integration” is the living soul. Integration means that on one hand, ecological civilization construction should be in step with economic and social development; on the other hand, it is inherent with the strategic thinking that priority should be given to ecology and environmental protection. This paper explains how ecological civilization construction is integrated with economic development and also discusses its strategies and paths. The findings are as follows: The first is to cling to the bottom line that no major ecological disasters should happen. This requires adherence to the basic state policy of environmental protection, restructuring of conventional industries and transformation of development patterns. The second is to adhere to the philosophy that industrialization, urbanization, informatization, agricultural modernization and greenization be promoted simultaneously, so that they can complement with the “five-sphere integrated plan”. This requires that a green, low carbon, and recyclable path should be pursued. The third is to stay open and forward-looking. In the new era of ecological civilization with new fashion and trends, active measures should be taken to build a modern ecological and industrial development system in order to lay a solid foundation for ecological civilization construction.

A Study on the Current Situation and Countermeasures of Ecological Civilization Education for College Students under the Construction of National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone - A Case Study of 21 Universities in Hainan Province
  • Aug 17, 2023
  • Journal of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Jinghan Sun + 1 more

In recent years, under the background that the country gradually attaches importance to ecological civilization accomplishment and strengthens the construction of ecological civilization system, ecological civilization construction has become an important part of Chinese social governance, and ecological civilization education in colleges and universities has also received continuous attention. As a national pilot zone for ecological civilization, Hainan Province has concentrated advantages in environmental resources and is a key player in promoting ecological civilization in the construction of free trade ports. In this context, as the main front of talent training, colleges and universities should actively play the role of educating people on their intellectual bases. They should not only do a good job in ecological civilization education and promote the construction of the strategic quality of ecological civilization in the whole society but also give full play to the positive role of ecological civilization in economic construction and social development. As the construction of ecological civilization continues to progress, various entities have made some degree of progress in the field of ecological civilization education. Firstly, the government has continued to improve the top-level design and accelerate the construction of ecological civilized policy systems and ideological systems; secondly, universities have co-ordinated and civilization the allocation of disciplines, strengthened the concept of research and study and expanded practical platforms; thirdly, the public has actively participated in creating a favourable atmosphere in society as a whole to advocate ecological civilization and promote the integration and coordination of various educational resources. But at the same time, the development of ecological civilization education also faces many difficulties. First, the depth of theoretical research is insufficient, the discipline barrier has not been broken through, and the educational results have little effect. Second, the policy system needs to be improved, the educational logic is not clear, and the policy framework needs to be optimized. Third, the orientation of education is fuzzy, personnel training lags, and the transformation of practice is hindered seriously. Fourth, the main body of education is dislocated and lacking, the potential of resources is weak, and the integration still needs to be strengthened. Based on this, this paper analyzes the implementation of ecological civilization education in 21 universities in Hainan Province through field research, summarizes the current dilemmas and problems in ecological civilization education, attempts to strengthen the cause-effect orientation, deepen the theoretical construction of ecological civilization education in universities on the premise of clarifying the correlative influences of ecological awareness and participation behaviour, actively explores the effective path of cultivating ecological awareness among university students, and provides benefits for the construction of ecological civilization in Hainan Province and the development of Hainan's free trade port.
