Abstract
An investigation has been made into the measurement of mechanical strain in terms of the electrical resistance changes induced in an evaporated metal film on a flexible support cemented to a stressed surface. The results show that a polyester foil coated with a nickel-chromium alloy is suitable for short-term measurement purposes.
