Abstract

The phase equilibria above 750°C in the Fe-Mn-Al system were examined by the thermodynamic calculation. In this system, the molar free energy for a phase is expressed by the extensive regular solution model which is separated into the paramagnetic-disordered, ferromagnetic and ordered terms and the free energies of other phases are described by the subregular solution model. Some absent thermodynamic parameters were evaluated on the basis of the experimental phase equilibria. The comparisons with the experimental results of this system were made, it is shown that the α/γ and γ/β phase equilibria in both results are in agreement with each other.
