Abstract
This concluding chapter presents the ideal of truly human enhancement as a positive vision of the future of our species. I propose that it embodies an especially attractive conception of where we might collectively be headed and our future relationship with technology. It uses the example of the (mostly) very human crewmembers of the Starship Enterprise in the TV series Star Trek as a counterpoint to the posthuman transhumanist visions of the future of our species.
