Abstract

Three–dimensional hyperbolic geometry is characterized using axioms of order, incidence, dimension, continuity and, instead of an axiom of parallels, there is an axiom of “rigidity” and, rather than several axioms of congruence, there is one axiom of symmetry. It is claimed that this system of axioms is simpler than the system of independent axioms of Moore [15].
