Abstract

A description is given of a system for plasma density variation based on a gas-dynamic source (GDS) of a molecular beam, designed to test the modes of replenishment and quenching of plasma in the vacuum chamber of the KTM tokamak. Experimental studies have been conducted to determine the flow parameters of a hydrogen jet in vacuum on a segment of a vacuum chamber of a KTM tokamak at a pressure at the inlet to a supersonic nozzle of 5 MPa and 6 MPa. The results of calculating the parameters on the axis of the hydrogen flow are presented: Mach number, concentration of hydrogen molecules, hydrogen flow rate. An analysis was made of the design adaptation of GDS on the vacuum chamber of the KTM tokamak, and a conclusion was made about the possibility of using GDS of a molecular gas flow to test the modes of replenishing and quenching plasma on the KTM tokamak.
